Battle Cry

Ephesians 6:10-18

VERSE I

Gazing out the window, frustration in my eyes

The adversary’s camp is where my weakened body lies

I can’t believe what I have heard from rebirth till this day

For it’s caused my apathetic state that’s really not the way

CHORUS I & II

(would)

It could be so much better

I know I could reach the sky

If I would only stand up

And heed the battle cry

VERSE II

Reflecting on my Christian past, I’m in a state of shock

I never used the keys I had, the storehouse remained locked

All my strife has been in vain, my reality’s absurd

But a voice inside my heart tells me the answer’s in the word

VERSE III

As I stare into the open book, the answer meets my eye

I must stand against the enemy, either that or I must die

As I raise the sword I feel the power of someone who’s inside

And as I kneel down, I’m lifted up with a power from on high

CHORUS III

Now I am so much stronger, I’ve reached up and touched the sky

With the armor of Christ upon me, I heed the battle cry

I HEED THE BATTLE CRY!
